Lori Blagg Clinton Alumni of the Year Award 2015Lori Rodgers Blagg is the Distinguished Alumni of 2015.

This Alumni of Clinton High School graduated in 1977 and currently resides in Clinton.

In High School she was voted Best All Round, Friendliest, Most School Spirited, was a cheerleader and played basketball. She was in the Beta Club and was nominated in the Who’s Who of High School students for two years.

She was crowned Miss Van Buren County in 1976. She attended the University of Arkansas. She also attended the University of Texas Arlington and the University of Central AR.

She is active in the Clinton United Methodist Church, she is on the Board of the Clinton Chamber of Commerce, she serves on the Literacy Council, she is treasurer of the Clinton Hunger Run that is continuing to raise funds for Foods for Life and Choctaw Food Bank.

She was an original Board Member for Van Buren County Recycling which brought recycling to Van Buren County. She was also on the Clinton Association of Revitalization and Excellence, better known as C.A.R.E.

She worked as a volunteer for Hands Across America in Texas. She served on the Junior Board at the Old State House, she was on the Arkansas Jewelers Board Association for 12 years and was President of the AR Jewelers Board for two years.

After attending University of AR she decided to move to Texas with two others and they found jobs at a restaurant in Arlington, TX. The restaurant was called Mr. Catfish and was next to Ranger Stadium in Arlington.

There she met her husband who owned the restaurant, and Ralph hired all three girls because they were from Arkansas and he thought they were pretty. The other two girls were Memory and Adrianne.
She married the owner of Mr. Catfish, Ralph Blagg and they remained in Arlington for 10 years but after starting a family they moved to Clinton.

Lance, Logan and Kevin, along with Justin and Whitteni enjoyed life at the Blagg home, as did many others that they helped along the way. They have been married for 35 years.

Lori started working at Faye’s Diamond Mine 26 years ago and became a Graduate Gemologist Appraiser. Lori is a partner and manager of Faye’s Diamond Mine.

She has won numerous jewelry design awards, the most prestigious being “Superlative Design and Innovation Award” which was a national award awarded by the Independent Jewelers Organization of America.
