Angel Tree / Previous page

angel treeAs you start working on Christmas lists and layaways for loved ones, why not give a thought to those less fortunate? The Angel Tree program attempts to bring some joy into the lives of needy children at Christmas time. The project provides much-needed clothing, special needs gifts, and wished-for toys to the neediest children of the Van Buren County area. These gifts give underprivileged children the hope of a brighter future and the reassurance that someone does indeed care about them.

Other Ways You Can Help

Be a Volunteer!

Since the Angel Tree is a 100% volunteer effort, there are many ways people to get involved, from processing the gifts to helping see that they get delivered to the agencies. Many groups, such as the Boy and Girl Scouts, school groups, and church and civic groups, donate their time each year to make Christmas come true for these children.

Tree Staffers

The Tree Staffers are responsible for checking out Wishes on the Angel Trees, receiving the purchased gifts and accepting donations.

Reindeers

The Reindeers transport the gifts to the main headquarters. They pick up gifts from satellite trees and business angels and deliver them to the central storage area for processing.

Gift Processors

These elves are responsible for removing all price and store tags from the gifts. They bag the gifts and mark them with the Angel Wish tag.

Sorters

These sort gifts down to the individual child, and group gifts for children in same family together.

Checkers

This group of seasoned volunteers reviews every wish and fills any unselected gifts from donations. It’s very important to us not to let any wish go unfulfilled!

We sincerely hope that you will consider contributing in some way to our efforts. Even the smallest offering of time, effort, or resources can have a huge impact.
