Yes, December has arrived in style, cold style, that is!

December 1-24th: $650 Give Away Cash Drawings Pistole Gun & Pawn is sponsoring two December programs, the 1st is for every $50 spent at Pistole Pawn from November 28th – December 24th gives you a chance to win some cash. Seven names will be drawn on December 24th, 1st place will receive $250; two 2nd place winners receive $100 each & four 3rd place winners receive $50 each.

December 1–31st: Guns for Grub is the 2nd Pistole Gun & Pawn sponsored program. For every new or used firearm sold in December, Pistole Gun & Pawn will donate $5 to the Choctaw Food Bank & the VBC Food for Life programs. Last year they sold 62 firearms, the goal this year is 100 guns sold. For details on either program contact Jeff Pistole at 501-745-7296.

December 7th – Christmas in Clinton, A Community Wide Christmas Open House The local merchants of Clinton invite the community and surrounding areas to celebrate and shop local for “Christmas in Clinton 2014.” Many local businesses will be open for a Christmas Open House Sunday, December 7th from 1 to 5 PM offering special discounts, refreshments & sales. December 7th – “Deck The Halls Downtown” Christmas Flash Sales, 1 – 5 PM. The Dirty Farmers Community Market: Free Gingerbread men for children to decorate and Hourly Flash Sales. Dove House Thrift Store: Free cookies and Hourly Flash Sales. Two Kidds Kreations and Occasions: Free hot chocolate. Main Street Florist: Free Eggnog, holiday specials. Bud’s Appliance: Special sales and drawings for prizes.

December 9th – The Dirty Farmers Community Market is hosting a book signing from 11:00 am- 2:00 pm, for local Author Jimmy L Cossey II. He has two books available. A Children’s book, “Jumper’s Journey” and “The Eye Opener, My Journey While Battling Depression”. There will be a free children’s drawing for a stuffed Frog for each book purchased. December 10th – Coffee with French Hill, our Congressman-elect, who wants to meet with people in the Clinton Area on Wednesday at 11 AM – at the Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce office at 290 Main Street. December 12th – Ozark Health’s Foundation “Festival of Hope & Lights Gala” to be held at the Fairfield Bay Convention Center beginning at 6 PM. Tickets are available through Thursday, December 4th, for more information contact Tawny Laymon at 501-745-7004, ext 106.

Shop with a Cop Raffle: It’s not too late to get your tickets for a chance on a 42 inch Sanyo TV and/or AR15 243 camouflage riffle. One Stop Health Shop has an enclosed glass display case that measures 7 ½ feet long, 20 inches deep & 38 inches tall, with 2 glass shelves for sale at $200. For details call 745-4144.

The Dirty Farmers Market & Café is hosting live music & deserts every Friday night during the months of December and January. This is a donation only event and opens to the public. The evening event will begin at 5 and end at 7.

VBC Map Project is being finalized & maps could be ready for distribution soon, possibly by January.

The Fairfield Bay Community Education Center will be closing for the winter at the end of classes on Thursday, December 11, 2014. We will re-open for classes on Tuesday, February 3, 2015.

Clinton Art Students have painted windows at several of the businesses in downtown Clinton. The Dirty Farmers Community Market is sponsoring this event and are asking for your input. All students will receive a holiday treat for participating but they would like to give a “People’s Choice Award” for your favorite window. Windows will be completed by December 6th. Come by the market beginning on Sunday, December 7th – the 15th and vote for your favorite window. All prizes will be awarded to the students prior to Christmas break.
