January 17th – The Buffalo River Blues Society will be hosting a fundraiser for their winner of the International Blues Competition. This event will feature “Eagle Claw & the Mighty Talons” duo performing at the L’Attitude Bistro located at 1303 Hwy 65 S (behind KFC). The music will be held from 8 PM to 11 PM, the cover charge is $10, with all proceeds going to the Buffalo Blues River Society & the musicians to help defray cost for their next level of competition. January 21st – The Dirty Farmers Community market will host a free Snowman craft and snack workshop for the children on Wednesday, January 21st beginning at 6:00 pm. This workshop is free and open to the public. Call Jackie Sikes, 501-253-4716 for more information.

January 26th – Clinton Chamber of Commerce General Meeting, “Taking Time Out to Further Your Success” series kicks off on Monday the 26th of January beginning at 6 PM & will be held at the Petit Jean Community Room. This month’s program will provide an opportunity to meet your new Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors & new Chamber Members since our last meeting. In addition, we will have two speakers who will present their vision for Clinton and the County; new Clinton Mayor Richard McCormac and VBC Judge Roger Hooper. All this, plus an opportunity for networking; these programs are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be available, so please RSVP to the Chamber.

January 28th – Vonda Crocker, local author & Chamber Member will be signing her book “Home Fires Burning” which chronicles thirty-four years as an Army wife. It is a factual account of the times from “old Army” pre Vietnam through the end of the millennium. Vonda will be at the Dirty Farmers Community Market signing books from 11-2 on Wednesday, January 28th.

January 29th – “We Love VBC” town hall meeting is scheduled for Thursday at 6:00 pm at the airport in Clinton. This meeting is free and open to the public. Students from Clinton High School East lab will be presenting a video of where We Love VBC has been, their accomplishments and board members will be presenting plans for the future. February 7th – The 7th Annual First Responders Dinner will be held at the Clinton Senior Citizens Center beginning at 5:30 PM. The dinner is in honor of all the fire fighters, emergency responders, law enforcement & volunteers who are there when the community needs them the most. The dinner is open to the public. The 3rd Annual Clinton Hunger Run is open for registration! Saturday, March 28 – This 5K Run/Walk in downtown Clinton is open to all ages as a family-friendly activity to help raise funds for the VBC food banks. Last year’s event broke its earlier record when it raised a total of $5,000, thanks to many generous sponsors, volunteers, & participants.
