February 3rd – Third Annual Community Forum beginning at 6:00pm. A meal will be served and event speakers will start at 7:00pm. It is being sponsored by Project Surge and The Dove House. We open up the floor to anyone who is interested in speaking about their cause and any questions.The event will be held at the Friendship Baptist Church 333 Third Street in Clinton, contact Pam Cullum at 745-5657.

February 4th – “Be My Valentine” Children’s Workshop Bring a favorite stuffed animal, doll, action figure etc. to the Dirty Farmers Community Market beginning at 5:00 pm. February 7th – The 7th Annual First Responders Dinner will be held at the Clinton Senior Citizens Center beginning at 5:30 PM. The dinner is in honor of all the fire fighters, emergency responders, law enforcement & volunteers who are there when the community needs them the most. The dinner is open to the public. February 10th – Anniversary Celebration & Ribbon Cutting at The Bookworm beginning at 11:30 AM, with refreshments being served. Michele Cross, owner of The Bookworm, states she has had customers with her since she opened, as well as many new customers along the way. She feels that talking about books is like talking about a best friend. Be sure you check out Michelle’s discount table with books starting at .25 and goes up to $4.00. There are other special prices for hardbacks, fiction, romance & paperbacks. Michele says that a customer’s best bargain is always is to bring their books in for store credit, that way when you buy your paperbacks half the cost comes off your store credit. The Bookworm is located at Hwy 65 South, in the Roger Heights Shopping Center, Suite #8 (behind KFC) in Clinton. February 17th Ribbon Cutting at L’ Attitude Bistro at 11:15 AM. New Chamber Member & owner Tammy Gunn has taken her catering business into her new restaurant, located at 1303 Hwy 65 S, suite 6 in the Roger Height’s Shopping Center, behind KFC. The Bistro serves good wholesome food with daily specials and is open for lunch & dinner Wednesday thru Saturdays from 11 to 7 & offers a Sunday brunch from 11 to 2. February 21st – Visitation and Service for U.S. Cpl C.G. Bolden Details are being worked out for honoring & escorting him to the Clinton Cemetery. The funeral is scheduled for February 21st at the high school auditorium beginning at 11 AM. The parade is being outlined & will be announced soon.

February 24th After Prom Pie Supper & Auction at the Clinton High School beginning at 5:30 PM. Hastings Chicken dinner plus pie is $8; raffle tickets are also on sale for $1 each or 6 for $5. Proceeds benefit the After Prom Party. Call Karla Fultz at 253-5590 for details.

March 3rd – The Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet will be here before you know it! Call the office at 745-6500 or Carrie at 745-5861 to order your tickets. Our guest speaker this year is Walt Coleman; plus scholarships will be given out & there will be a Silent Auction again this year. More details to follow.

March 28th – The 3rd Annual Clinton Hunger Run is open for registration! This 5K Run/Walk in downtown Clinton is open to all ages as a family-friendly activity to help raise funds for the VBC food banks. Last year’s event broke its earlier record when it raised a total of $5,000, thanks to many generous sponsors, volunteers, & participants. Story time at the Library – Saturdays from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Bring the kiddos by the library for a great reading adventure.
