October 27-31st – Red Ribbon Week:
On Monday, October 27th Judge Hooper has signed a proclamation declaring Oct. 27-31 as Red Ribbon Week in an effort to unite the community in taking a stand against drugs. Businesses and communities can show their personal commitment to a drug-free lifestyle through the symbol of the Red Ribbon. How to participate? Wear Red Ribbons, display them at your business, distribute to your employees, and place a Red Ribbon message on your marquees that demonstrate this year’s theme: “Love Yourself. Be Drug Free”. October 30th – Ground Breaking for Construction on the new water clarifier to be held at noon at the Clinton Water Treatment Plant at 749 Water Rd, Clinton AR. Call City Hall at 501-745-8110 for more information.

October 31st – 2nd Annual Scare on the Square. Once again the Clinton volunteer fire department will be sponsoring a haunted house & safe trick-or-treating downtown on the square. Last year was a huge success thanks to everyone who helped hand out candy & goodies on the square. Plus, this year, the VBC Special School & Lakeside Learning Center will also set up an additional haunted house for the smaller children in the former Cannaday office space on the square. And, Gray C. Photography & The Style Child boutique (on 65-B) will also take pictures of the kids & offer goodies. So,there’s plenty for the children to do. And, perhaps a few other last minute surprises!

November 1st – The Clinton Drama Club is presenting “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” at the Clinton School’s outdoor amphitheater on Saturday, at 7 PM. The cost is $2.00 for students and $3.00 for adults. For more information contact Clinton High School at 501-745-6035.

November 4th – Election Night on the Square: Join us on the Square after the polls close at 7 PM for live election updates announced by Sid King. The Rotary Club & the Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce will be on hand serving up free hot chocolate, coffee & cookies to help keep you warm.

November 4th – Potluck at the Van Buren County Courthouse on election night in the Quorum Court room beginning at 7pm. Bring your choice of a main dish, drink or dessert. For more information call 501/745-2443
