2017 Chili Cookoff
Saturday, Oct. 7 on the Downtown Square
The Chili King Cook-off is held the first Saturday in October and is a fun filled day. There is a 5.00 charge at the gate that includes all you can eat chili while supplies last. Join us for this festival atmosphere complete with music, arts and crafts vendors, activities for the kids, and 20 plus different kinds of chili.

We appreciate everyone who attended the downtown event and participated in the City-Wide Celebration campaign. The response was outstanding and everyone’s involvement will help the effort to promote local business in our community!
- Over 475 attended the event
- The downtown Square hosted 16 chili booths, with 18 kinds of chili and over 50 volunteers
- 16 Arts & Crafts booths
- 49 ticket boxes distributed all over town for the “Construction’s Stopped & It’s Time to Shop” campaign, increasing traffic to local businesses
- Promoted in newspaper, radio, and social media in and beyond Van Buren County
