‘Twas the Lights Before Christmas / Previous page

Exciting Announcement!

Courthouse-LightingClinton’s “T’was the Light’s Before Christmas” program will be launched on November 30, 2013 – lighting of the 40 foot Christmas Tree, the whole park, and under the bridge and Kiddy Park. There will be live music, caroling, horse & carriage rides, activities for the whole family, snacks, hot chocolate, coffee, and goodies on the 30th and every Friday and Saturday until Christmas!

Saturday, Nov. 30 there will be a live remote with KHPQ/KGFL’s “Jambolance” & Sid King, with special entertainment by Steve Trawick.

The Clinton Chamber of Commerce is working with the A&P Commission to put our park back on Arkansas Trail of Lights Program. The State program publishes listings of towns on the “Trail” so people know which towns to visit and hopefully stop and visit local merchants, programs & restaurants.

This project is not just for 2013, it will continue year after year for the whole community to enjoy. Having Clinton listed in the Trail of Lights Program will create visibility for our area, along with added traffic for all merchants, and fun activities for families to enjoy the whole month of December and for years to come. It’s crunch time…

To accomplish this, it’s taking many volunteer hours and money. Many businesses and individuals have already responded, but we still need more help. It’s taking an enormous amount of lights to get everything lit up, so any and all donations will be gratefully accepted.

How you can help

There are several ways you and/or your business can help!

  • → Bring goodies & drinks to the park for families to share

  • → Sponsor a section of lights, at a dollar per foot
